Travel Style :: Morning Walks in Amsterdam

I decided to take a trip around the neighborhood early in the morning to get used to the place I was staying. After all, it was my first full day in Amsterdam and I was very energized. P.S. the photo above shows me in front of the house boat I rented. I really wanted an authentic experience. More on that, in an upcoming post. Anyways, Amsterdam is absolutely beautiful in the morning. A few locals were scattered about riding their bikes. I visited a bakery nearby where I picked up some goodies for the day. All in all, I had a great first morning walking around in this Free People top and GUESS jeans

Visited the Anne Frank House. Another post on that coming soon.

What to Wear When Traveling

Top (Under $50!)   |   Jeans   |   Sandals   |   Bag

Hi everybody!

My Europe series is starting off with what I wore to the airport. This outfit is very important because it has to be comfy but cute AND it sets the mood for your vacation. Here are some tips that can help you decide on your travel outfit!

Tips to help you choose your travel outfit:

  • Comfort is very important! There is a fine line between looking stylish on a plane and looking overly-stylish. I recommend with going with a softer material for the top. You do not want to be fidgeting on the plane.
  • Plan your outfit ahead of time. Make sure this is an outfit that you are comfortable with. Break into it. Wear it out a few times. Remember, make sure it's comfortable.
  • Dress it up by accessorizing. If you do want to dress your outfit up, don't wear something uncomfortable. Accessorize! Any look can be improved with jewelry.
  • Stay warm. I don't know about you, but I get cold on planes. So, make sure you bring a jacket and wear pants. I wore one of the comfiest jeans I own on this flight.
  • Don't overdo it. Sometimes the cutest outfits are a v-neck and ripped jeans. On long flights, people just sit there and sleep. So my advice is to stay comfy, stay warm, and accessorize.

Thank you so much for reading and happy traveling!

Mia Marcelle Swim Show Recap

The Mia Marcelle Swim Show was a fun presentation for their 2017 collection. The setup at the Raleigh Hotel consisted of cabanas decorated with bright throw pillows, a cigar bar, and a beach atmosphere. I was seriously impressed with the beautiful designs (I seriously wanted all of the swimsuits)! Today I'll be recapping some of the styles I saw at the presentation.

Stripes are in! I saw a lot of stripes at this event. The classic all-American look was in full swing! These perfect nautical swimsuits ranged from one-pieces to bikinis. P.s. I loved the variety of swimsuit styles. Many of the looks featured a cheeky bottom (I've gotta make sure to do extra squats for next summer).

It's hard to choose favorites, but the black swimsuit presentation was so classic, sleek, and sexy. I mean, look at the side of the one-piece pictured above... wow! I loved that Mia Marcelle had such intricate designs, even if the color of these suits were classic black. Cut-outs were also a trend seen at the show.

Who doesn't love florals? Not only were some of the swimsuits floral, but so were some of the outfits. The designer, Rebecca Kremer, rocked one that night.

Vibrant colors were also on full display. These neon colors just pop out at you. And they look perfect against a summer tan! That blue one-piece is giving me life!

What I Wore to Miami Swim Week

Right after my European vacation, I was able to make it just in time for some of Miami Swim Week. This fun week consists of a bunch of events featuring designers showcasing their swimwear. I wore this to the Mia Marcelle Swim event. Fun story: I was taking outfit pictures before the event when the models passed by. One of the models was Olivia Jordan, Miss USA 2015! She then compliments me on my outfit and I basically flipped out. Trying to play it cool, I blurt out "Well, you look fabulous!" Duh... She's flippin' Miss USA!! *Sigh* But hey, at least she liked my dress.

With the gorgeous model Laura at the Naven event. How cute is that suit?!

Of course, I wore my favorite dress atm to this event (seriously, this dress has been featured on my Instagram 3 times in the last 4 weeks!) I just love the cobalt blue color, which is perfect on any skin color.
